WHO I AM
I'M THE ONE WHO WRITES A LOT...
From a young age, writing was a way for me to channel energy, get extra credit, express my love for Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Zac Hanson, and truly capture the essence of living life. It's the frequently-Windex'd window into my soul and the place where I find solitude.
In the first grade, I learned that I enjoyed writing for an audience. I'd finish my classwork early and then get in trouble for talking, so my mom finally asked the teacher to give me something else to do. That thing ended up being my column in the class newsletter. From compiling the Super Spellers list to interviewing my classmates about their favorite foods and colors to giving everyone a writing prompt based on what we were learning, I was a young journalist with an eye for a unique angle.
In junior high, I re-launched the school newsletter. In high school, I wrote articles for the high school paper and published a monthly column in the city newspaper. I was accepted into one of the best journalism schools in the country and wrote for a number of publications while in college.
My youth, my young adulthood, and my career. Writing has been the common thread...one of the only constants in my life.
